Artist of the highest degree of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan.


Gulsera Jumayeva was born in 1954 in the village of Dashrabat, Koytendag etrap (formerly Charshangy etrap), of Lebap velayat. In 1962, she went to the secondary school No. 4 of this village. In 1972, she completed exemplary performance. Her passion for art began when she was in school, participating in musical and dramatic productions. Gulsera Jumayeva’s love for art led her to a studio theater opened in Ashgabat in 1977, next to the former Academic Drama Theater named after Mollanepes. He takes lessons from teachers of the Turkmen theater, such as Ata Alovov, Aman Gurbandurdyyev, Oraz Hajymyradov, Kakabay Durdyev, Nury Keshikov, Chary Ishangulyev, Aman Komekov, Durdy Niyazov, Seyit Nepesov. After graduating in 1979, she began working as one of the founders of the Music and Drama Theater named after Seyitnazar Seydi, which was opened in Turkmenabat (former Charjev). During her work in this theater, she played various characters in the productions of “Seydi”, “The Blind King”, “Potion country”, “New Year’s Eve”, “Pain of Love”, “There is a mess in the head of Yigit”, and “Urban Summer” played similar characters to the delight of the public.
In 1990, the Turkmen State Puppet Theater was opened under the leadership of the People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Ata Alovov. At the invitation of the teachers, Gulsera Jumayeva became one of the founders of this theater. The teacher entrusts her with Lisa, the main character in Ata Salih’s production of “The Tiger and the Fox”. She skillfully created this character and earned the love of the audience. Thus begins a new creative path in the puppet theater of the artist. She performs the roles of Tokmak in “The Blind Crow”, Torumly Maya in “Bovenjik”, Nuf in “Three Little Pigs”, Goose in “Goose”, girl, Mouse in “Cat and Mouse”. From the Turkmen folk tales the Sun, the old woman in “The Tale of the Mountains”, Gulbibi in “Shabahrem”, the Lamb in “Grandma’s Lamb”, the Mother Deer in “Gulnarjan”, the Rabbit in “The Clever Rabbit”, the Dove, Poppy in “Poppy”, a flower and with a long eyelash and Jemal in the “Mouse’s Wedding” in “Stubborn Deer” puts the characters on their feet. In 1998, she successfully performed at a theater festival in the Islamic Republic of Iran with her performance “From Good to Evil”. Then the Bride in “White Snake and Black Snake”, a fox, a lamb in “Deceived Waves”, a snake, a peshmek in “Akmaral”, Apache in “A House with Children – Bazaar”, Aunt Gulsum in “Juyten’s Wedding”, a fortune teller in “Eh this love is uncle”, sister Izyum in “Love Bridge”, Nurbika in “Hudayberdi Batyr”, Grandmother in the production of K.Meshkov “There once was a rabbit”, Nabata in the production of K.Tanrygulyev “Pilmahmyt” successfully participated in theater festivals held in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia. Participated in the international festival held in Astrakhan, Russia, as Durly in the production of G.Danatarov’s “Girl Doll”, Rabbit in the production of Kh.Shirov’s “Alyanak”. She played the role of Mom in “Yartygulak”. With this resolution, she successfully participated in international festivals held in Poltava, Ukraine, in the city of Hamidan, Islamic Republic of Iran. She was able to demonstrate her acting skills at a high level, playing the wonderful characters Lisa in “Before Dawn”, Gunesh in “Rainbow of Childhood”, Manyrsak Sister in B. Batirov’s play “A Case in the Garden” and Kuleyjan in “The Boy Turned into a sparrow”.
Gulsera Jumayeva is an artist who has dedicated her life to the art of Puppet Theater. She has created over 100 characters. In cinematography, she created small characters in “Karizgenler” by B.Annanov and “Tree” by S.Bayramov. The creative path of Gulsera Jumayeva is an exemplary school for young theater artists. She enthusiastically teaches the subtle techniques of moving the puppets and voicing each character.
In 2011, the artist Gulsera Jumayeva was awarded the jubilee medal “To the 20th Anniversary of Independence”.
