Yartygulak
The play named “Yartygulak” is a literary work dramatized on the basis of folklore. The play depicts in an interesting way the life burdens and childlessness of a poor family that faces rather hard days. One man notices a child, and despite very short height of this child, he adopts the child. He loves this child and is proud of him, and so he calls him “Yartygulak”. This tiny boy carries out work that adult people can't handle. Yartygulak’s bravery, courage and wisdom develop throughout the play by means of miraculous events. Yartygulak comes to rescue his parents. He overcomes bai’s blood-thirstiness, exposes mullah's deceit and even defeats wild Wolf. Yartygulak's victory is celebrated as victory of justice. Oppressors beg for mercy, and oppressed people confidently walk towards freedom and new life. Playwright Hemra Shirov depicts the value of freedom by means of play named “Yartygulak”.
